Chairman's Handover Dinner

Newent Round Table recently held their 36th Chairman's Handover dinner at the Newent Golf Club. Many past and present members of Newent Round Table attended the event, including some guests from Ross Round Table.


Outgoing Chairman 2000/01 - David Battrick

David Battrick welcomed everyone attending the meeting and introduced our guests. David then preceeded to give a brief summary report of his year in office, in which he thanked, Mr Geoff Craven, for all his support as President. In particular, he paid a special tribute to everyone who supported the 35th Charter evening.

After completing his report David then presented the Chairman's Jewels to the new incoming Chairman, Howard Webber.

Incoming Chairman 2001/02 - Howard Webber
New Chairman Howard Webber, then thanked David Battrick for all his hard work by presenting the Past Chairman's jewels and a gift from Table.

Howard spoke about his aims for the year and then introduced his new Vice Chairman, Jim Laishley and Table Officers, followed by Honarary Members and President, Mr Kevin Timney (who was unable to attend the meeting).

The new table programme was then presented followed by a brief overview of the new Table website www.newent.org.

Interruption - Newent Ladies Circle
The lnterruption was performed by the Newent Ladies Circle, namely, Marsha Williams, Andrea Webber and Helen Megenis. The interruption theme was based on "Allo, Allo".
